 ISIS TUFLOW
In the past 6 months we have seen a significant upswing in the volume of work requiring 2D modelling with TUFLOW and 1D-2D modelling using ISIS-TUFLOW. The ISIS-TUFLOW 1D-2D linked models have been used for projects at Welshpool (PCC) where modelling was used to develop a project appraisal study for Powy County Council and to address issues with the allocation of sites for the UDP. ISIS-TUFLOW was also used for the Thames at Farmoor, The Eden and Irthing at Temple Sowerby and Greenholm to evaluate the impact on outflanking of the gauge stage discharge relationship at high flows.

TUFLOW has also been used independently in a number of coastal situations to assess the impact of breach of a shingle barrier at Hythe in Kent and for the breach of an embankment at Barrow in Furness for the Strategic Flood Risk Assessment. (December 2006)

Marina design data
The 2003 survey of power and sail now available. (Click here for more)

 Marina design data

One of the difficulties faced by the designers of marinas is obtaining reliable data for the design of berthing facilities.  The world of power boats and yachting is constantly changing with the demands of the sport and leisure driving the design of high performance craft.

Edenvale Young Associates has undertaken a survey of over 250 power and sail boats from leading manufacturers such as Swan, Sunseeker, Bayliner (power), Nautor and Moody (sail) to provide information for the design of marina basins, approach channels, slips, dock cranes, lifting bridges, marina services and associated facilities
Sail & power survey 2003

The full report is available from Edenvale Young Associates. The survey includes graphs and tables giving details of overall length (loa) against:
